He looks like an impoverished street urchin from a 1930’s version of “Oliver” who found the outfit in a dumpster, but there wasn’t a matching shirt. And he looks as though he’s on the runway by accident—like he thought that the doorway led to the men’s room, not the stage…

It must be the way the composition is laid out, and how he seems so alienated from the audience, who claps and laughs at the man who has forgotten to put on a shirt. As they jeer and mock his large handkerchief, his confidence diminishes, resulting in the very poor foot posture.
