High Light
Manolo says, here to enliven your Wednesday is the pair of the hot booties from the Kenneth Cole New York.
Yes, during the working day you appear to be the uptown girl, living in the white bread world. But, the truth it is more complex, and when your day of drudgery is complete it is onto the 6 and back to your tiny sublet in the East Village, where you will slip into the black ribbed tights and hot booties to meet your friends for drinks and arguments about the Julian Schnabel.

Num yum, just what I’m looking for. Must have them for ze pants zoots at ze office.
I have always been confused by the bootie. I feel that a knee-high boot is much more flattering with a skirt. And with trousers, I’d prefer an ankle-height boot (so as to prevent the dreaded “sock flash” when seated). A bootie just seems odd and unnecessary. Maybe it’s because I’m so short and anything that breaks up my leg line makes me look stumpy. So, score another one for the tall girls, I guess….
Boy the 80′s really are back with us, aren’t they?
why leave the office, CHANGE, then go out. boots like this let me go from BORE to WHORE without having to reconsider footwear at all.
I never got these shoes, even when they were big in the 80s when we called them “shoe boots”. I’ve always found them ugly and unflattering. Can the Manolo explain them to me?
As a fellow shortie, I’m with MissV here. I’ve never understood the appeal of these granny-type booties.
Whaddayawear’emwith?

This means grunge is only a couple years away. Ahh, the days of wearing flannel, baggy pants and thermal shirts.
I like the hot booties and plan to wear them to the Gugenheim on Saturday.
