What did the divine Diana ever see in him? Oh, yeah, a Queenly title. Girlfriend sold herself short. He’s better off with horseface, er, Camilla.

He’s cute in a dorky old guy sort of way. I want to take him home and fix him a nice plate of pie. Besides, I heard a rumor that he’s secretly a Catholic (British royals in the line of succession cannot be Catholics or married to one), which makes me like him more.

AND he’s impeccably dressed. Heart the Chuckster.

“I know, Gromit, let’s go somewhere where there’s CHEEEESE!”

  10. Zarba November 16, 2006 at 9:13 am #

But he is dressed impeccably, as Verity said…

VS, you’re not wrong. Perhaps he is smiling because he is happy. She may or may not be horsefaced (YMMV), but the Camilla, she was and is his true love. She may lack the divinity, but she was never for sale. La BellaDonna, she wishes them the happy moments, and the many nice plates of pie together.

Let’s visualize: add a top hat, morning dress and imagine he’s cheering on the horses at Ascot…

That made me laugh out loud! Crumpets indeed!

Verity Kindle, the rumour is that he’s secretly a Muslim, not a Catholic.

    Hey Manolo,

Do you have any suggestions for a waterproof boot(my Uggs are SO NOT waterproof) that won’t break the bank?

  16. Slave November 16, 2006 at 5:58 pm #

Ivy, good luck getting the Manolo to respond to someone who wears Uggs. Aptly named, indeed!

I would think that the whole no bacon, no beer, praying five times a day thing would get in the way of opening shopping malls and other Princely duties….. I’m not listening…la lalalalalala lalalala he’s on my team la alalalalalalalalalalal denial

The Prince, he looks REAL and REALLY HAPPY. LaBellaDonna, she is correct that the true love, it regards not the style nor the youth nor the words of the world, but lights up the person from the inside.

Perhaps this insular and undeservedly wealthy boy, he is not so bad.

    La Bella Donna,

Yes, for the love of God let him and Camilla be happy, but don’t tell me she was never for sale. She had already been purchased by someone else, leading his royal dullness to shop for a sweet young thing who was fertile and could bear an heir. How many women at Diana’s age when wooed by a prince could see the future clearly and opt out before it was too late. Let Charles and Camilla have each other (not that they didn’t while both of them were married to other people) but don’t dis Diana for being sold a bill of phoney goods.

  20. La BellaDonna November 17, 2006 at 2:54 pm #

The truth of the matter, Gemdiva, is it was not a good situation all around, and there are many people who had a hand in creating all the unhappiness, including, inter alia, the Charles, the Camilla, and the Diana. If the many accounts are to be believed, the Diana had at least an inkling, and perhaps more than that, that all was not as it should be before her wedding day. La BellaDonna hopes that the suffering of all the parties involved has done at least this much good: it seems unlikely that the children of the Charles and Diana will have to to choose between love and duty in the event they fall in love with women who are not still the virginal schoolgirls.

La BellaDonna, she puts the heaping helping of blame on the shoulders of the Queen, and the value placed on a fragile piece of tissue.
