I loved how un-slick and rough he was. Hated the "I resign because I'm in love" bit. Yuck! The Bond he must never be mushy.

I haven't seen it yet- and probably won't since Bond was the ex's type, not mine-- but Daniel Craig reminds me of Steve McQueen, and that's a good thing!

I loved this movie especially the wonderful performance from Daniel Craig. I found his love interest irritating in the extreme though. Even so, it was indeed gritty and real, playing happily on my own concerns about terrorism, etc. The action was great and I was so relieved there wasn't a single laser satellite to be found.

My favorite part: when he and the irritating love interest were in the restaurant after the card game. Were I not happily married to Mrchip....

I was surprised that there was so much ado about Craig being the new Bond. Having loved him in "Layer Cake," and having a high level of regard for his rugged and craggy good looks, I thought he was the ideal choice for bucking the dark-haired, too-slick/too-quippy Bond stereotype. I loved his approach in this role, and I appreciated the lack of gadgets in the movie.
