I found his love interest irritating in the extreme though. Even so, it was indeed gritty and real, playing happily on my own concerns about terrorism, etc. The action was great and I was so relieved there wasn't a single laser satellite to be found. My favorite part: when he and the irritating love interest were in the restaurant after the card game. Were I not happily married to Mrchip.... Having loved him in "Layer Cake," and having a high level of regard for his rugged and craggy good looks, I thought he was the ideal choice for bucking the dark-haired, too-slick/too-quippy Bond stereotype. I loved his approach in this role, and I appreciated the lack of gadgets in the movie. I was surprised that there was so much ado about Craig being the new Bond.
