The Livia is incorrect about the beautiful sandal the Manolo has shown us here. I own a pair of the Birkenstocks in the same style (eep, yes I know, but I was in Italy and everyone wore them) and because of how far back the strap is, it prevents the shoe from flopping and keeps it secure to your foot. Additionally, the single layer of leather will probably prove more comfortable as it shapes itself to the foot of the wearer.
The shoe looks like something that would go with the Uli's outfits for the warm Miami weather.

It's a pretty enough pair here on a web page. I wonder though how comfortable they can possibly be for walking, being hardly more than a layer of flat leather. But more importantly, there's no way to make a silk purse out of a pair of shower shoes. The wearer still exposes the entire foot while walking (and hardly ever to positive effect) and makes that incredibly annoying flop flop flop sound everywhere she goes. No amount of golden glitter is going to make a class act out of that.

Maybe it was just me (being the western girl that I am) but I never saw so much black in my life as on vacation in Palm Beach. I do hope it's different in Miami- I suspect it must be, with shoes such as these being the recommendation!
