And that Jim Carrey spoof was SPOT-ON.
For another spoof of bad fashion (and bad music, and bad Christmas present ideas), I’d suggest clicking here to see Justin Timberlake doing what can only have seemed like a good idea at the time: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S-5grqhj1b8.

Gah - the link doesn’t work. Okay, just go to http://www.nbc.com/Saturday_Night_Live/videos/ then and click on “A Special Christmas Box”.

Reminds me of a late Elvis, actually. Complete with stealing music from what had started as an African innovation.

Manola makes me snort out loud with laughter in an ungenteel manner.
It is interesting that Kevin Federline’s management team thought we were ready for another incarnation of this phenomenon, no?

They cut the YouTube video off too quickly… In the original SNL broadcast, they cut to Weekend Update as soon as the song was over, and Dennis Miller played “Under Pressure” by Queen & David Bowie as the lead-in music. (Vanilla Ice completely ripped off this song for “Ice Ice Baby”)
Miller quipped “Wow, great song! Seems like it was written just yesterday…”
