Dear Manolo,

As is appropriate for one of your long-time readers, my resolution for 2007 is to look super fantastic at all times. What would you recommend for New Years Eve?

That, and the naïve and unbridled enthusiasm for the coming of the New Year, when we may cast off our old habits and begin life anew. And so we resolve to give up the smoking, and the junk food, and the dating of the men who are no good for us, (well, except for the Arturo, who is bad in that Latin way that we find so charming).

Of the course, the best resolutions are not those that involve the wrenching life adjustments, but those that may be attained in the more pleasurable ways.

Vow to look super fantastic in the 2007 and each time you purchase the beautiful shoes, or go the day spa you may have the personal satisfaction of knowing that you are sticking to your resolutions of the New Year.

Others shall marvel at your “will power”.
