The Wellies

Manolo says, one of the Manolo’s many internet friends has asked the Manolo the question.

My friends and I are wondering, what does the Monolo think of the Welly? The one in question is the Jeffrey Campbell, like this one..

Manolo loves the Wellies!

Indeed, the Manolo has many times in the past recommended the rubber rain boots, although given his choice, the Manolo would prefer stylish, such as these boots from the Tretorn.

The Tretorn they are from Sweden!

The Manolo would also recommend, for the super fantastic city girl with the narrow calves and the whimsical tastes, these marvelous rubber boots from the Sigerson Morrison.

Very stylish, no?

As the final words of caution, the Manolo would tell you that, yes, with the rubber boots one may indulge in the moderate amount of the joyful whimsicality, however one must be careful to not topple over from the whimsicality into the ridiculous, or perhaps the frightening such as these with the Cowboy Goth Grateful Dead motif

Trust the Manolo, if he saw you stomping through the puddles with these upon your feets he would run away.

P.S. For the Manolo’s friends in the U.K. the Wellie Arts Blog!

    Ooooohh Manolo!
About 20 years ago I would have LOVED the frightening Grateful Dead boots! I am in my 40′s now and trying really, really hard to be tasteful. Really.

For the preppy girls, J. Crew has some quite nice wellies as well.

Back in the summer it was said that Sandra Choi was leaving Jimmy Choo. Other articles said that they weren’t paying her and it sounded like Tamara Mellon was an egomaniac!!

So what is the deal? Is she still there? Is she leaving after all of that bad press or staying. The comments people had from “unidentified” company spokespeople made it sound nasty.

Could she be staying until the company is sold. Heard it was on the chopping block!

Manolo, are the Tretorn boots comfortable? I have gone through two pairs of rain boots, both being uncomfortable – one hurt my heel no matter what I wore/put in it, and the 2nd had horrible insole-comfort, even with Dr. Scholl’s (and they are Puccis). :-(

I’m afraid to try rain boots now, and I just wear regular boots. Oh no!

This summer I am moving to the land of rain all Spring through Fall – the Florida! And Spring is also approaching, I really should find rain boots.

What I REALLY LIKE is the Tamara Henriques Kitten Heel plaid boots – but I can not find them!

    Big sighs.
