I would consider getting yourself a more practical pair of shoes…perhaps with the added bonus of being able to kite down a high street? just a thought…

some trivia for Manolo about Barry Lyndon. Marisa Berenson, who while quite lovely to look at is not the most animated actress, is the grandaughter of famous Paris designer Elsa Schiaparelli… I love that movie too… especially the soundtrack which features the music of Franz Schubert.
Mark Helprin wrote an article several years ago for the Wall Street Journal. He described his father–parachuting into France on D-Day, and then holding him on his shoulders and wading through water somewhere in Italy. Helprin described it so well, I felt I was there.

Mark Helprin wrote a story called “Perfection”, which
comes as close as I’ve ever seen to a perfect short
story. You’ll laugh and cry. I’m glad the Manolo
has such great literary taste! Goes good with
great shoes.
