What the Manolo Is…
Manolo says, it is the Tuesday, time to see what the Manolo is…
The Stephen Fry usuallly makes the Manolo laugh, with this book not so much.

Count of Monte Cristo is so good. Even if you’ve read it before, it’s very hard to put down! Stephen Fry is a good writer but he needs to get a new schtick - this whole bad-things-happen-to-good-people-because-of-the-Tories thing is just boring.
I don’t like Offenbach, but I wonder if that’s because the recordings my parents had when I was a child (and that my sister and I listened and “danced” to over and over) were from some French provincial orchestra and so not very good, or if I just associate Offenbach with childishness (though not childlikeness). Either way, seems like there’s too many composers out there to go back and give him a fair trial . . .
