It is hardly surprising that the Manolo would find himself in the literary company of the son of the greatest American novelist of the twentieth century. Last night I head an amusing account from the mouth of the Martin Amis about the unfortunate visit of the Christopher Hitchens to see the great man. While not a conservative myself, the pamphlet on the Consolation of Shoes by the Manolo might be the only argument that could win me over to that cause.
