Her First Pair of the Blahniks
Manolo says, here is the heartwarming and amusing story of the young woman’s first pair of the Manolo Blahniks.
When he got back, he took off my Isaac Mizrahi for Target shoe (Hey! It’s bargain basement, but still designed by Isaac Mizrahi, so I wasn’t embarrassed. Much.) and slipped the Manolo on my foot. I felt like motherfrickin’ Cinderella up in that piece!!!! That shoe felt like butter. It conformed to my foot, y’all. Oh. my. God. I actually closed my eyes and had a shoegasm. It was a religious experience. Sarai started talking and Vic actually shushed her because he could see that I was having a moment.
This made the Manolo the Shoeblogger laugh out loud.
P.S. From the Manolo’s internet friend Meimei

I had the same moment when I tried on this shoe four years ago
I still wear them all the time, and they feel like they were made for my feet. No break-in period. I have three pair now, and I am always on the lookout for my next pair.
That made me lol too :D Now I want to experience the shoegasm!
When a friend e-mailed me to say that the Manolo himself posted part of my Manolo experience on his blog, I couldn’t believe it! I am honored!
I still feel like motherfrickin’ Cinderella every time I wear them!
Oh my, Manolo! Thank you for the salutations and the link! Proper credit for the story, however, goes to the super-fantastic Toya from The Life of a Ladybug (http://lifeofaladybug.typepad.com/) and her equally fantastic husband Vic, who brought her to the Neiman Marcus and purchased the Manolos for her last Christmas. I am SO going to rush over to Toya’s blog and tell her about this!
(I, personally, have yet to experience “shoegasm”… but when the right shoe comes along it will be a fantastic experience!)
The strangest thing… i bought my first (and only so far) pair of MBs with my husband too, from a superfantastic luxury mall in berlin called Quartier 206. They were the most expensive pair in the store, and i suspect in all of Berlin. He chose them for me, he wanted me to have them all the while he teased the lovely salesgirl about how expensive womens shoe fetishes were (he was wearing 17 euro red canvas shoes then, and kept repeating the price to all the ladies in the store). T
he shoegasms are bang on, pun intended, which is why i only wear my darlings when i’m with my darling.

See, now I want a husband to buy me some MBs. Actually, I’ve got six pairs on my own, most of which come from consignment stores. I’m saving to purchase a pair of black Carolynes with the 2″ heel because they, as a classic, aren’t likely to show up secondhand.
