Whose Shoes Wednesday…The Answer!
By Manolo the ShoebloggerManolo asks, whose shoes?

Manolo answers, the Queen Mother Elizabeth!
Congratulations to the Manolo’s long time interent friend the Phyllis, who came up with the correct answer the mere eleven minutes after the Manolo asked the question. Indeed, the Manolo was mightily impressed by all of his friends who said the Queen Mum, as he thought this question was quite difficult.
By the way, the amusing and endearing picture on the left is from 1949, during one of the three periods in the 20th century when the platform shoes were stylish. The other two occured in the 1930s and in the 1970s. Of the course, we are now at the end of the first revival of the platforms in the 21st century.

I have to admit, I adore the idea of this feature. I can’t wait for next Wednesday!

If only the present queen could dress so well. She looks so frikkin’ dowdy, whereas queen mum looks great in those pix. Nice hat on the right, too.

The Queen Mum? I thought the lady in the left-hand pic was Margaret Dumont!
