Beautiful and unusual post! I was pleasantly surprised to read this in my reader this morning. What about Degas’ dancer lacing her ballet shoes? Would that be relevant?

I have always liked the top painting. I was in the Van Gogh museum in Amsterdam a couple of years ago and they have the painting, but no prints. I was very disappointed.
