Not to be suspicious, but could the good Doktor be another extension of the Manolo’s eccentric personalities? After all, even writing about shoes can get old. And the Manolo has displayed a keen knowledge of academics and the like . . .

Odd. The face of the Herr Professor Doctor BP von Korncrake bears an uncanny resemblance to the Mike Love of Beach Boys fame. I suppose it’s the mighty dome?
