Manolo says, ayyyyyyy! Don’t throw away the good shoes! Otherwise, très charmante.

Charming indeed - and all praise to the singer, who has such beautiful diction that the Annalucia can understand what she is saying, even without subtitles.

Oh, yes, everything Annalucia said!
…but who lays down in the grass in a brand new white skirt? Even momentarily?

In case you wonder, the singer is China Forbes of the band Pink Martini. She also has pretty good diction in English and Italian.

She not only ditched her shoes, but her shopping bag! Ay, indeed!
But it was very charming. Je ne veux pas travailler, aussi! Too bad life keeps interfering…

eewww! throw away the cigarettes and keep the cute shoes.
Also, as anyone that has worn flip-flops knows - running and skipping in f-fs is an invitation to tripping and executing a face plant onto the concrete..

That video was adorable. I’ve had days like that….
I would live in flip-flops if I could live without high heels… no face plants, either. Jane, I am a big China Forbes fan. She also sings incredibly well in Spanish, Portuguese, and lately Arabic, too.

I can’t believe she tossed the adorable shoes!

Diction in all these languages, wonderful, yes… but she’s singing en français, bien sûr!!! The text:
I don’t want to work,
I don’t want to have lunch,
I only want to forget…
and then, I smoke.
(not nearly as poetic in English as in French.)
Her American accent makes it very clear for me to understand, and from what I understand, many french find an American accent très charmant.

What a wonderful video! I hope the shoes were found by a little orphan girl who never had pretty shoes before.
Also, Pink Martini is the best!

A good example of how smoking does not automatically make you look cool. I’d swear she doesn’t really smoke, she didn’t look comfortable with it at all.

Aaah! I knew as soon as the video started that this was shot in Montreal. It perfectly captures the general feeling here. We had a HUGE snowfall on last Monday and were all convinced that winter would never go away, and on Thursday there was bright sunshine, 20 degree (celsius) weather and the smell of summer in the air!
