Manolo says, here is the Manolo’s latest column for the Express of the Washington Post.
Dear Manolo,
After a recent talk with a dashing but insensitive young man, I’m swearing off boys, for at least for the next week or two. In celebration can you suggest some shoes that will not only make me feel delightfully independent, but also not scare away any potential future crush that may come along?

Manolo says, yes, it is true what they say, men are from Mars and women are from Neiman Marcus. The typical male resaction to mild romantic rejection is to order the beer and to try again immediately with someone else.
The typical female response, one which the Manolo wholeheartedly encourages, is to go on the shopping expedition.
Clearly it is better to alleviate your disappointments in love by finding the perfect pair of the beautiful new shoes than by vigorously consuming the gallon-sized tub of raspberry rocky road ice cream. (Not that there is anything wrong with the ice cream, just that, as with all drugs, it must be used in moderation.)
As for what shoes would be good for expressing your independence and your readiness for adventure, the Manolo would recommend the Stripe-Less from Kenneth Cole New York, as being the shoe for the girl who is almost ready for the next crush.
