Bettye Muller for the Summer
Manolo says, as difficult as it may be to believe, the summer is almost here, and the Manolo has been staring at these beautiful summer sandals from the Bettye Muller trying to decide if the raffia on the heel works for him or not.
On the one of the hands, the raffia works perfectly on the rest of the shoe, but on the other of the hands, the Manolo is mostly opposed to the textural and decorated heels (except on the wedges).
Perhaps the wooden heel would have allieviated this unease.

Ooh La La! I like…However, I’m afraid my feet might get lost wile sitting on wicker furniture or walking on light colored hard floors.
That said, I think they’d look super cute dressed down with a puffy white skirt.

Unless one is so very super-fantastic as to have a chaffeur, the raffia heel of the right shoe will become damaged when driving.

I think the raffia heels would work better if they were piped in black, the way the other raffia is.

I actually like the rafia on the heel; I think it gives the design a more balanced look. I’m trying to picture the shoe with a plain white heel or a wooden heel, and it doesn’t work in my brain (though that probably has more to do with my brain than the shoe, I’m sure.)

The Sarah agrees with the Maggi that with the raffia makes the shoe look more symmetrical, especially since a teeny bit of symmetry is lost by the black piping not going all the way around (though the piping on the ankle strap helps greatly too).
The Sarah likes the textured heels! They make the shoes more interesting and more aesthetically balanced.
These are indeed the breathtaking sandals!
