Truth is truth, however, and La BellaDonna was merely pointing out the reason that so many American women seem enamoured of the Botox. It is not unlike the shiny lure for the trout … or the two-by-four for the mule* - or the gift-wrapping on a present. It is to first get the attention. It is hard for the men to appreciate the wisdom and the serenity of the older woman if they do not notice her at all. This is not the condemnation of the male sex; the ones who stay for the wisdom (once it is brought to their attention) after all, have made the choice not to flit after the younger ladies.

*sigh* of the course, La BellaDonna thinks that many of the American women enamoured of the Botox would be willing to forego it, regardless, in exchange for the promise that their forebearance would make them look like the Christie, the Sophia, or the Kate.

There are the mens who would, regardless, prefer the ordinary twenty-something woman to the ladies mentioned above, prefering the pedestrian youth to the extraordinary beauty tempered with age and leavened with wisdom. By and large, La BellaDonna believes those men get what they deserve - and they deserve what they get.

*This is the joke; the mule, it should only have the two-by-four if it is exceptionally good at construction.

Which would be why the wise woman is interested in only the rare men. Why would I want anything less? Why would not the serenity of solitude be preferable to the attentions of a man who values nothing about me except the simulated youthfulness of my appearance? LaBellaDonna, ordinarily I find your remarks to be unerringly on target, but I am afraid we part company here. Not that this should distress you greatly, and in any case no one will probably ever see this, as this post, its day has passed.
