She wore this to an opening? Of what, a Bed, Bath and Beyond?

  2. Gloria Mundi Says:

Ouch. Usually Susan Sarandon looks so much better than this. What was she thinking when she left the house?

  3. Ruffa la Femme Says:

My mother, who’s in her mid-70s, has a surcoat very similar to this. On her it looks cute, in that “women who wear red hats” sort of way.

Here, on Susan Sarandon, it just looks ridiculous.

I suppose it’s only a matter of 20 years difference.

    Fantastic actress.

    Gorgeous woman.

    Complete Moonbat.

She just doesn’t care about style, and it shows.

  5. Barbara Says:

Haha. My grandmother has drapes that look just like that…
    except minus the blue

  6. Hannah Says:

My second favorite website ever, gofugyourself.com, did a hiliarious fugging of this fashion…. choice. I do have to say that after seeing all the bedspreads it kinda makes me want to take a nap.

Seemingly EVERY influence from around the world was gathered to concoct this monstrosity!

  8. blooes Says:

Well, SHE LOKS LIKE A HIPPIE, lol!

What was she thinking about? :)

  9. Fausta Says:

She’s just groovin’ to the sixties, man!

You know, I think she looks adorable–entirely comfortable and cute. I bet it’s a beautiful fabric up close. And I think the shoes are cute, too–not chic, like the Tracy Reese above, but cute in an age-appropriate, not-always-having-to-be-about-sex kind of way. (Ducks head but holds out hands to catch the flying shoes.)

  11. Sarah Mae Says:

I think it’s a lovely coat and I wish I had one. It’s clearly a bit difficult to wear, and I’m not sure what I’d actually match it with, but in a sort of splendour/imperial brocade/rich-colors-only-possible-with-silk way, it’s fabulous.

I think it would work a little better with longer pants and a more suitable bag.

Also, the it would probably be better to wear either the shirt, pants and shoes or the shirt pants and coat–not all of them together.

It’s much more sensible–if you have to be a famous actress–to wear clothes that are individual and interesting in themselves than to just wear generic, tight “oh, please tell me that I still have the figure of a twenty-year-old” clothes, especially if you still look young. Nothing is worse than trying too hard, clothes-wise.

You know, there’s one thing in what I said that I’d take back: I saw the shoes in a closer shot elsewhere, and they use the same material as the coat. Bad idea. (But I agree with Sarah Mae about the coat itself!)
