Manolo says, after looking at many, many more videos, the Manolo has had the change of heart…
He recants his former opinion, and now believes that Verka Serduchka is indeed most super fantastic!
How can one not love the megastar who freely admits she comes “of social bottom stock“?

In case the Manolo and the Manolo’s friends are deeply curious about the profound messages of these Ukrainian drag-pop, the lyrics are here in their untranslated glory. The first of the songs roughly follows the story of a super-fantastic girl who does not wish to mope and think “nobody loves me, nobody want to touch me, I will sit in the garden and eat some worms”. Instead, she enjoys drinking and dancing and singing “gop gop gop chida gop” (I suppose it makes the worms go down better).
The last song is about another super -fantastic girl, who dreamed and waited, and then argued, swore and threatened and even bit her not-so-fantastic husband. The husband was nice, but is now no better than an chimpanzee, and is being unceremoniously dumped for being “drunk as a pig” (which, in fact, is the title of the song).
The middle song isn’t so interesting in it’s plot, though sounding good… kinda along the lines “things might not look so bright, but everything will be better etc.”
(Those lyrics were fun to translate…)

Yes it shows us that our Easter cousins do have talent of humour. From the news we always hear about coups, corruption and dictatureship. Viva Verka!
