Whose Shoes…The Answer!

Manolo asked, whose shoes?

Manolo answers, the Catherine Deneuve!

She is shown here with her daughter Chiara Mastroianni and the author Marjane Satrapi, yesterday at Cannes.

Congratulations to the the Manolo’s super fantastic internet friend the Super* who was one of only two peoples to correctly know who this was, the other being the Kym.

And here is the Catherine Deneuve at Cannes today, wearing the pelt of the gigantic saber-toothed leopard.

    Manolo,

Did you see the lifesaving ho shoes on Wired?

She is WWWWWAAAAAYYYY too old to be wearing platform shoes. Uck. Ditto the leopard print.

In the top pic, that’s her daughter on the right, correct? She looks like Cruella deVille. Eat, please!

CatDen is beautiful, and looks much better than most women her age (thank you, Dr. Surgeon) but she is proof that nobody, and I mean NOBODY, can outrun the aging monster.

    That is all.

Hey hey HEY. Nobody disses Catherine Deneuve while I’m in the room. Her current physical appearance has nothing to do with it.

Sorry, Fred the Fourth, but Catherine Deneuve looks great, although in a very thick-in-the-waist, chic-grand-mere way, only from the hem up in that photo with her daughter, but the shoes! It’s not that she’s too old–it’s that they’re those awful YSL Tributes that (a) are plug-ugly; and (b) don’t go with that restrained suit and demure blouse. As for the leopard-skin dress, yeesh! Talk about “Does this make me look fat?”! You’re a long way from “Belle de Jour,” baby!

As for the daughter, Cruella de Ville? How about Morticia? She looks quite miserable, too, as though all were not well between her and maman.
