Good Lord!

Manolo says, it is the ghost of Idi Amin Dada!

Oh, come on, Manolo. It is very easy to tell that that is the Andre Leon Talley! (My reaction on seeing the picture: “Andre!!! Oh, good lord!” As your post title says.)

    Nice shoes, though.

  2. LaVida2 Says:

How can anyone take his fashion rhetoric seriously when he dresses like this!!!

  3. Doralong Says:

Andre is simply from another planet.. always has been.

    “NO” indeed!

  5. Cat Says:

I am reminded of the scene from Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure, when they go into the future where everybody worships them, and the Three Most Important People in the World are sitting up on high, and everyone starts playing air guitar. Mr. Talley looks like one of the Three Most Important People in the World, played by (I believe) Clarence Clemons.

    Well, now.

A year or more back, Vogue was publishing ALT’s earnest monthly dispatches concerning his weight loss regime: the gym, the diet, the lack of desserts. Or so I recall.

Then the reports stopped appearing. I always wondered how he was getting on in his Battle of the Bulge.

Not so well, according to this pic…

André Leon Talley has the absolute worst taste for such a purported fashion “arbiter.” How’d he ever get that gig at Vogue?

  8. Gina Says:

Kimberley - - You are so right. ALT also appeared on Oprah to discuss his weight loss. He even showed photos of how he used to dress in an attempt to camouflage his increasing girth.

I saw this new photo and said, “Eeek!! The dreaded caftan!! Poor ALT must have put weight back on.”

I am grateful to have finally had the opportunity to say “the dreaded caftan” which is one of my favorite phrases from “Absolutely Fabulous” (episode title: Fat).

  9. Obi's Sister Says:

Yikes, somebody stole my pants and all I could find was Nana’s mumu!

  10. Sharon Says:

I would have to agree that wearing this type of trash you cannot help but wonder how much stock to take in what he says. Ouch, that is downright ugly.

    The shoes say it all.

Did anyone see the picture of Tim Gunn in Vanity Fair wearing an eerily similar robe? Actually I think Mr. Gunn’s was quite a bit finer in embroidery & detail and he wore it with more panache. But is this some kind of bizarre trend among the haute male fashonistas? Brought on by global warming?
