Perhaps I’m wrong, but to me she doesn’t seem gleeful; she seems to be looking straight past the Prince with a frozen smile pasted on her mug, as if she might be saying to herself, “Here I join a profession that allows me to kill people, but never the ones I really want to.”

Ayup, When you report in for US basic everything civilian goes. The men’s underwear will be boxer and it will be Olive Drab. I hate to think about what the female recruits get issued. After you get through basic and MOS training you could go off base and buy your own I suppose, but would you let the base laundry handle your good stuff? If you are an officer or senior enough to live off base you could swing it. The military would be better off buying from Marks and Spenser sinct their stuff lasts a lot longer.
