The Only People Who Should Be Wearing the Crocs

Manolo says, little baby children, such as the Violet Affleck seen above, may wear the Crocs. However, if you are the fully grown person you should avoid these ridiculous and childish rubber monstrosities.
“But Manolo,” cry the infantile, the misguided, and the willfully perverse, “the Crocs, they are so comfortable”.
Manolo answers, “so are the cardboard boxes filled with the combination of styrofoam packing peanuts and Vaseline.”
And just as the sensible person knows not to submerge their feets into such things, no matter how pleasant it may seem, so too does the sensible person know to avoid the Crocs.”

i couldn’t agree more!!!!!

Little Violet is super-cute in her crocs, as are my darling children (not that I’m biased.) Everyone else should be shot.
July 27th, 2007 at 2:45 pm
Oh Manolo, you crack me up!!!
July 27th, 2007 at 2:46 pm
Little girls should be allowed to wear all sorts of shoes in happy colors. She looks absolutely precious.
July 27th, 2007 at 3:14 pm
Ben looks sufficiently domesticated.
Oh and I agree on the Manolos sentiment.

I agree, little baby crocs are adorable. And I don’t have kids, but they seem like they would be practical where toddlers and their messes are involved. However. Fully-grown, professional, and (seemingly) intelligent adults should not model their fashion choices after their children. Keep fighting the good fight, Manolo!

aww… I saw a little 5 year old boy in an unnamed fast food joint the other day, and he looked adorable in his turquoise crocs.
July 27th, 2007 at 5:58 pm
What about doctor and nurses? They are ugly, but we need comfortable shoes.
July 27th, 2007 at 6:31 pm
HILARIOUS: “so are the cardboard boxes filled with the combination of styrofoam packing peanuts and Vaseline.”
July 27th, 2007 at 10:31 pm
I agree. I really hate the way those shoes look! They are so STUPID!
July 27th, 2007 at 11:44 pm
Well, as they say…until you’ve walked a mile in my shoes…if you have RHEUMATOID ARTHRITIS and are in constant pain, then you MAY wear crocs.

Well said! More on my opinion on Crocs on my blog: shopaholic.ro, a blog about fashion, shopping, traveling and everything related with style!
July 28th, 2007 at 10:25 am
Yes, when little baby children wearing Crocs is so cute.
July 28th, 2007 at 4:17 pm
Couldn’t have said it better myself… it was ridiculous seeing all those crocs in adult sizes in Disney World - and adults wearing them! (With the charms?!?!)
July 28th, 2007 at 5:57 pm
I bot the sandals which barely looks like those, but I have PF and needed something comfortable for vacation.
They never bother my feet.
July 28th, 2007 at 6:46 pm
They are like walking on buttah! I know they are ugly, and I don’t care.
July 28th, 2007 at 9:34 pm
Why if the kids grow up thinking Crocs are acceptable? What if they wear them when they’re older? No, keep the bad influence away, I say.
July 28th, 2007 at 9:50 pm
But Manolo, what about the shoes her mother is wearing in this photo? Didn’t you just post something on chemical burns from flip-flops?
July 28th, 2007 at 10:26 pm
Now now….. They are great for working in the garden! You can use the water hose to clean them when they get dirty!
But that’s where it ends. There are too many pretty shoes in my closet to wear them elsewhere!

The Tia Nieve’s subdued green crocs do not venture beyond the property line of the Tia Nieve’s home. But within the home, the subdued green crocs are perfect for the housework, the up and down stairs to the laundry, and, as Melissa says, for the gardening.

I second the question: what about doctors and nurses in the work environment. Certainly there its acceptable.
July 29th, 2007 at 11:13 pm
haha. That kid looks nothing like either of them.
July 29th, 2007 at 11:36 pm
how can something that looks so FOUL on adults be so cute on babies? it must be the pudgy-leg proportions.

Doctors and Nurses should be aware that, unlike very little children, they do not have a layer of fat on their feet to support their arches and are quite likely to do themselves harm if they spend all day on their feet without proper support week after week. Fallen arches aren’t fun.
But I will continue to willfully contend that the crocs have good properties for the boater, and perhaps the gardener, but poor for outside those jobs.
As for the children growing up to not know better, I had “jellies” as a small child - plastic shoes that were much more attractive than crocs because of their shape, but I don’t look for glitter-infused shoes these days.

So right! Little baby anything is adorable…even heinous Crocs. But just as children outgrow pacifiers and diapers, Crocs should go too.
July 31st, 2007 at 6:54 am
But Manolo, may I wear them rafting?
July 31st, 2007 at 1:48 pm
Kids need well fitting shoes as they learn to walk and their feet are developing. Crocs are ill-fitting and sticky.
I do not understand the desire to wear crocs in hospital/healthcare facilities and other places where body fluids have a way of escaping the bodies that once contained them. I personally would never want to step into the rooms of certain residents wearing shoes full of holes.

Actually… no one shoudl be wearing Crocs. They’re a fashion disaster on adults… and if you let yoru kids wear them, you might want to read this… http://crocsaccidents.blogspot.com/

“THE ONLY PEOPLE WHO SHOULD BE WEARING CROCS ARE….”
ANYONE who wants to. Be it a child or an adult, if you like them and they feel good to your feet, WEAR them. Who gives a crap if they didn’t cost $800.00 or more, and don’t have heels on the bottom of them.
Jeez….grow up!

You people have no idea what the heck you are talking about. I own 5 pairs different colors, and am getting ready to buy another pair. Why is it so wrong for some people to buy some shoes for comfort? I personally think they are the ugliest shoes I have ever seen, but they are also the most comfortable shoes I own. Why not try a pair, and see for yourself?

The funny thing is that, it is always the fat, unattractive slob that wears them. At least if you’re gonna wear them, keep them clean.
