Manolo says, here is the most depressing story of the week.
Clearly a little run-in with the law isn’t slowing down the Paris Hilton licensing machine. As if sportswear, watches, handbags and fragrances weren’t enough, Hilton now is launching an eponymous line of high-end footwear. “My goal is to create a stylish and fun fashion line from head to toe,” said Hilton in a statement from Antebi Group, a footwear manufacturing company based in New York, which is producing the shoes. “Antebi Group really understand my vision for this line as well as the needs for the fashion-forward young woman.” Platforms, stilettos, wedges and other signature Hilton styles will hit stores early next year.
Once again, the Manolo deplores the whole business of the celebrity “designers”.

She may have money, but that doesn’t mean she has taste. I’ll be curious to see what comes out of this. I don’t anticipate good things.
And even if something good is created, can you bring yourself to say – “Yes, I’ll wear the Paris Hilton shoes”.
Can you?

High-end footwear???? I wouldn’t buy something branded by Paris Hilton at the 99 cent store.
UGH! Somebody make it go away. They can send a man to the moon, why can’t they send Paris?
I still can’t buy Guess clothing or accessories because Paris Hilton used to be their spokesperson. The negative association is just too strong.
The only “celebrity designer” I respect is Gwen Stefani. Otherwise, I don’t go near the stuff.
Who would purchase? Not I, and I am my whole universe.
I guess it was only a matter of time a celebrity found their calling in the drag queen shoe niche.
You could not pay me enough to so much as try on those shoes.
Someone should seriously think about revoking these licenses.
Feh. Her shoes will no doubt prove to be a blight on the footwear landscape, because she hasn’t any taste, nor the good sense to hire someone who does.
I want see what comes out of her shoe line, just curious.
Doesn’t she have the large feets? Will her line go up to Ladies 12 or 13?
…clearly a whole new collection of “going to jail shoes” is needed for Paris and her co-celebs. Who better than Paris to design them? With lots of chains and spikes I’m thinking.
