Pretty Chanel shoes in the first link! Though they’d be even prettier without the logo on the toes — yes, it’s subtle, but I’ve never much cared for logo-wear. Why be a free billboard, even for Chanel?
And it would also have been nice if the author had removed the tissue from the pretty shoes before taking their picture :)
Re: the previous comment. Meow! Why stop at criticizing the son’s gift and the mom’s joy in receiving it? Let’s complain about the photo as well!
The garden crocks are very strange, but an improvement over the originals. I’m reminded of the strange hats that one often sees at the Kentucky Derby each year.
A mall-crawl last month convinced me that 2007 was the Summer of Ugly. Sadly, it looks like fall is shaping up the same way. Although this dress was gorgeous, just about everything else was… not.
That woman is a very very lucky mother indeed to have gotten such beautiful shoes from her son :)
I echo the sentiment that the recipient of the Chanel shoes has a rather exceptional son!!
At the risk of starting another Croc controversy, it occurs to me to wonder what the half life is of the material these “shoes” are composed of. I can’t imagine that their rate of decomposition can be measured in anything less than centuries. Does this not make them a terrible contaminent to our dear mother earth? Since most of the people I see wearing them seem to use them as a dress up version of their Birkenstocks, I wonder how they reconcile the negative impact of their footwear on the environment with their rabid craving for Croc comfort.
What, we can’t talk about the shoes because her son bought them for her?
I thought the same thing about not caring for the logo. It certainly wouldn’t deter me from wearing them if I got them as a gift, though.
The woman who made the garden clogs really needs to hook up with a sculptor, who can make a lovely garden gnome at 1/20th scale.
About the beautiful Chanel shoes – it’s black on black and the logo is so tiny that you’d have to be looking very closely to see it anyway.
I’m not a fan of logos either but I think I’d be too busy admiring the quilting on the shoe and not notice the infamous intertwined C’s.
I think it’s kind of weird that her son knows her shoe size!
I think it’s kind of weird that her son can afford Chanel shoes!!
Remind me to bring my sons up as well as Gigi!
