Whose Shoes Wednesday…The Answer!
Manolo asked, whose shoes?

Manolo answers, it is the Eleanor Roosevelt!
Congratulations to the Manolo’s internet friend, K., who was the first person to correctly guess the person to whom the shoes belonged.
Update: The Annalucia asks,
Eleanor Roosevelt…hmmm. She was still alive when the Annalucia was a child, and always spoken of in hushed and reverent tones as the Relict of the Great FDR. So while the Annalucia has no trouble with most of the pictures, she is absolutely floored by the skinny-bare-legs-in-sneakers shot; surely this never made it into the newspapers at the time. Could the Manolo please favor us with a copy of the entire photo from which it came?
The Manolo is most happy to comply…

Most sensible for gardening!
Well, Mrs. Roosevelt wasn’t known for being a fashion plate.
The divine Eleanor stops and smells the roses.
(I so heart those shoes in the main pic. That’s my favorite shoe sillhouette!)
