Make-Up Artist Sabotage
Manolo says, it happens often enough, you have designed the frock that attempts, however vaguely, to make reference to the iconic look, in this case the Japanese geisha.
And so you give the make-up artist instructions to apply the face paint so that it evokes this iconic image.
And what do you get…
Ayyyy! The Bride of Frankenstein!

My first thought was the dark patch of her dress (an orchid?) was in a most unfortunate place…

The Annalucia agrees with the Victor. The make-up and the hair can be fixed but the location of the brown figure makes the dress unwearable.

Is the placement of the geshia’s head on the dress iconic? Ironic? Or simply idiotic?

LOL! The makeup, in this instance, is neither the most obvious nor the most unfortunate flaw in the photo. Horribly poor choice of print location.

Actually Elsa looks hotter than the model. But then again that me be just me.

toad:
Trust me, it’s not just you.
Actually, the key bit here is the word “vaguely” that the Manolo uses in his valiant attempt to express the problem in a gentleman-like manner. I, being of a more cholerik disposition, would have used the words “pretentiously”, “ignorantly”, and “unsuccessfully”.

I agree, this wrong on sooo many levels! Perhaps this was a Halloween runway show?
