I had to resort to reading the remnants on the old Manolo blogspot site in order to maintain the last vestiges of my completely illusory sanity. Thank the Internet Gods you have returned to us!
Oh, most sorely, Manolo dear, and just when the Annalucia was already under a great deal of the stress (as the Tedesco was in the hospital having the surgery of the heart). Thankfully he is doing well and the Annalucia will be going to see him in about three hours.
If the Manolo could find and post some pictures of the elegant shoes from the 1920s and the 1930s the Annalucia would be most grateful – the latter decade, especially, is her most favored period of fashion and to gaze upon such shoes would be an uplift and a comfort. If the photo contains the woman who is also wearing the Vionnnet gown that would be even better, but it is not strictly necessary.
La BellaDonna is desperately, pathetically grateful that The Manolo has returned. Life is not the same without him.
Hola to the Annalucia, and my very best wishes for the improved health of the Tedesco. La BellaDonna recommends to the Annalucia the Dover reprints of the 1920s and 1930s clothing and shoe catalogs, and the reprint of the French fashions of the 1920s. This way she will have something to read while keeping the napping Tedesco company. La BellaDonna, she also recommends bringing the pillow to sit on, as those chairs are hard. La BellaDonna also recommends to the Annalucia the website of the http://www.evadress.com, which offers patterns for the 1930s in the larger, as well as the smaller, sizes. If the Annalucia does not sew, she could perhaps hire the seamstress to make up the patterns for her.
one of the comments on my last blogpost asked if anyone else was having trouble connecting to Manolo’s blog and said she felt “bereft” — I agreed with her (Dana) — bereft without Wednesday’s Whose Shoes? bereft without any beautiful new shoes to cheer up our day, bereft without any resounding AAYYYYs to give us a chuckle — So Glad You’re Back!!
Molte grazie to the kind people who have left their best wishes; the Tedesco is much, much better and now is only awaiting the doctor who will come in, sign the paperwork, and permit him to go home.
And LaBellaDonna, “evadress” is a magnificent site, many thanks.
Manolo! You have returned to us… Bereft is the best word to describe my days. The new Mr. Carol and I went off on our honeymoon without the sage advice of appropriate footwear. Now that you are here, we will have to ask about the hiking-theater-dinner-hot tub shoes. And we may have to do the honeymoon all over again with the new, fabulous shoes!

Now that the Manolo DT’s have stopped, I can safely say that “I missed you” would be an understatement. All hail the return of The Manolo!

Manolo, I don’t know who has hijacked your site with ads and wingdings, but it is starting to resemble the Fark much more than the Coutorture.
Simplicity, as Tim Gunn would say, can be best.
