Advertising That Repulses
Manolo says, this creeps the Manolo out, and makes him wish to avoid the Museum of Contemporary Art in Sydney.
P.S. Many thanks to the Manolo’s friend Karl for sending this most disturbing image.

It’s ART. If it disturbs you in some creepy way which is not directly obvious, then the art succeeded in delivering a message. This image takes the premise that high heels make us sexy to its logical though unnatural conclusion. What if our feet were really made like a high heel shoe, would we still consider it sexy?

Perhaps the perpetrator of this ad is the fan of “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” by the Doctor Seuss.
Alas that the Annalucia cannot find any of its illustrations online - no doubt that they are still under the copyright. But if the Manolo’s readers will consult a hard copy of the book, they will notice that the Who ladies of Who-ville are possesed of the furry, high-heeled feet.

I’d bet the artist is trying to make some analogy to foot-binding. Still: gross.

Yes, yes, it’s “Art”. I took Art History. I know. I understand what you’re saying.
Still: Eeuw.
