I confess when I heard her question I thought of my new darling high-heeled mary-janes by steve madden (I think the name was Clasikal.) I do love them with my nice jeans and a cute top, but I also wear them with skirts and slacks.

Love, love, love them!

I've heard (whether it's true or not) that allowing shoes to "rest" is good for them, supposedly they will last through more wearings. But now I can't remember the details about why.

Wouldn't those shoes be okay with jeans as well? I tend to think nice shoes with jeans is generally okay, it's the other way around (slouchy shoes with nice clothes) that would be a problem. Uh oh, am I wrong?

To the TeleriB: It's both. See, for example, these tips on how to make your shoes last longer: http://www.ehow.com/how_5019_make-shoes-last.html

Step One is: "Avoid wearing shoes two days in a row, and allow shoes to air out for 24 hours."

"for one needs several pairs of the shoes, so that one does not wear the same pair of the shoes two days in succession."

I have been practically living in my Lucchese cowboy boots since I bought them. Is the policy of not wearing shoes two days in a row good shoe-care, or fashion?
