Where is the article that is supposed to explain it? I don't know how much it tells you about your brain, but it's optics right? If you are watching her move one way you don't have to change your thinking to something "right" or "left" brained to make her switch. Just move your eyes to the left or right (without moving your head) until she is in your peripheral view and she will switch. You can switch her as quickly as you can scan with your eyes, not your 'thoughts.'

My apologies for "he" instead of "she".

In my defense, there is no indication on that page of the gender of the author unless you explore more of her blog, which I didn't.

But you're right, as a female physician, I should be more attuned to that sort of thing.

I saw her clockwise in the first post, but after trying to understand the mind blowing nonsense of the article, she was turning counter clockwise. Now I can make her do both, I have wasted 30 minutes here at the office and I feel a bit sick to my stomach. Thanks~

Okay, when this was first posted I could only see it spinning clockwise. Which did correspond to "who" I am. And I couldn't make her switch. But think I was reading the new explanation and in the middle of me reading I saw her switch directions from the corner of my eye and it freaked the heck out of me!

I'm scared now!

"And the auditory illusions he linked to were even better."

The author of the post linked to is a woman. She linked to them, not "he".

The phantom words project thing was cool. i remember when i was very young I used to lie in my bed and listen to my dad mowing the lawn, because the lawnmower produced the same sort of "phantom words". I'd just let my mind go free and i could hear it "talking" to me.

I thought there was something fishy about that explanation - mostly because the direction I saw her turn didn't match my personality.

And the auditory illusions he linked to were even better. Anyone listen to the phantom words project? I heard a lot of "no", then "no way", then "help", "meltdown", and "hell no".

But I didn't need a phantom word recording to tell me I'm overcommitted and stressed out.

After reading the Perth tabloid dumbed down version of things, I feared I had no spatial perception, belief or appreciation. Now I have the courage to look at the spinning thing's feet, and make it change direction whenever I want, safe in the knowledge both sides of my brain are still intact.
