Horrors–I’m a native Southern Californian, and I know how devastating those brushfires can be.
Believe it or not, I am about fory miles south and we can see the smoke from here.
Yep, it’s pretty bad — winds woke me up (10 miles from the fire) at 3:00am.

Santa Ana’s (strongest of the year) plus a year with negligible rainfall makes for some scary fire conditions. All of the local stations are carrying live coverage. This is a bad one. I’m holding good thoughts for people who live in the area that they get this sucker under control soon. We’re a few miles south near the coast and the air is definitely a bit smokey.

Malibu burns every year. It is perfectly situated for small fires to get out of control. I hope everyone evacuated in time.
