I have no idea when this style of posing with the feet turned in emerged, but it is really strange and not terribly attractive. I actually had a friend in school who stood like this but she had a physical issue with the socket in one of her hips that caused her to do this. But I see this in pictures all over the place now and it seems to be some sort of affectation.

I am amused by the repeated foot positioning—toes turned in, left toes roughly even with right arch—that is in so many of the pictures. She obviously has a favorite position to stand in.

That’s so weird. I looked at those and instantly thought Scar-Jo. I had never directly noticed the wayward-inward foot before, but something about it had sunk in, apparently, because I knew it immediately. Hm.

I think it’s Kirsten Dunst. And, yeah, the pigeon-toed thing is truly annoying. Take that from a person who had to have orthotics in her shoes as a kid to correct that problem. Whatever happened to valuing good posture? Part of that is knowing how to stand.

I also say Scarlett Johanssen - she does that annoying fake-pigeon-toed pose all the time. Someone must have told her it was sexy and she believed them.
Almost as annoying is JLo’s “waving only the middle and ring fingers with the pinky up”…

I totally agree that the pigeon-toed posing affectation is ridiculous. I suppose the actresses who do it imagine it makes them look young and coquettish.

It’s not the pigeon toe posture that gets me (that just denotes insecurity); it’s the horrid dark hose with light colored shoes…. It hurts to look at it…. wrong, wrong, wrong…

I think the dark hose/light shoes is from a runway show or something. I love (most of the shoes) but hate the positioning.
