Holiday Shoes 2007, III
Manolo says, here are the very attractive low-heeled peep-toe slingbacks from the Kate Spade, the sort of shoes that any woman, young or old, would be happy to wear to the festive holiday party.

Does the Manolo recommend wearing these with bare legs or some sort of covering?

Ayyy, these are beautiful! Perfect! Wonderful! (Note to Kate — I always wonder about that very thing. Hose that cover toes in a peep toe shoe are a no-no, but baby it’s cold outside!)

Well - I would say for sure that if you WERE to wear something with it, it would have to be cute and funky - I would say a pucci-type print knee stocking, or a bright color with the black pair (turquoise, orange, bright pink, leopard). I would stay away from tan/white/brown/black, because then it looks unintentional, and can be construed as tacky. The key is to go for an INtentional look - the “I’m so cool I can wear socks with my open toe shoes” look.
Done with the ostentatious socks, of course.
Otherwise, go bare and risk freezing off your toes - in the name of fashion, of course.

Or, you know… to work.
