A chunky heel looks good on a chunky leg. Not everyone has dancer legs.

De Anza, I agree. I am not a fan of the big, clunky heel. Aside from that heel, though, these shoes are divine.

thank you. I also think chunky heels on what is otherwise a dainty shoe looks...blech. I don't love purple, but those would be so cute in any color with a thinner heel.

"Manolo says, there is no “new black”. Black is black and it shall never be replaced as the most essential color (or non-color) in the wardrobe."

I love colorful shoes. My outfits tend to be neutral out of laziness, mostly (I wear black, gray if I want to live on the edge) so colorful accessories allow me to not look like funerals are a daily after-work thing for me.
I love that purple. Actually, one of my favorite shoes are a pair of eggplant t-straps! They are just gorgeous and such an interesting color!

It does depend on the style. I have a pair of lovely high-heeled strappy sandals that are just a smidge darker than my own skin tone. (They're currently being re-heeled, as I wear them so often.) They're marvelous if you're wearing the type of dress that doesn't lend itself easily to a coordinating shoe (or if you don't have time to hunt all over town for the shoe that coordinates perfectly.) As well, if the shoe is rather bare and close to your skin tone, it makes your legs look longer, I find.

But no, they're still not as fun as a colourful shoe.

Beige shoes. I don't know what it is, but I have never worn a pair of beige shoes - even when wearing a beige outfit - that I actually felt "good" in. I don't know what it is. I'd rather wear brown or black or even red with beige - beige shoes just are ...blechy.
