Miestro Manolo, I humbly ask if your reccommendation of the Ugg has to do with the link on Friday Misc. Are you trying to help the third world child get the Uggs? After all the childrens in the third world live mostly in the tropics and need the ugly winter boots. I'm sure the Uggs would be so comfortable and good for the feet in a climate that has 100% humidity, tempertures in the 90's and 100's, and many mysterious fungi...

I have the taller version of that boot, the Ugg 'Kona', and I love them! I have always hated the so-called "classic" Ugg-- they're not even an acceptable cold-weather boot for anything other than slouching around the house, as the sole is flimsy, there is no support for the foot (certainly not the arch!) and no ankle support at all. Add in the ugliness of the "classic", and you have an all-around bomb.

The Kona, while not so fleecy, is far superior when it comes to both structure and visual appeal. I get compliments on them whenever I wear them.

Somehow this brings to mind images of bikini-clad Scandinavian girls frolicking in the snow...

Must be the rawhide lacing.

I like these boots. They would go well with a parka and Norwegian mittens.

Several months ago I succumbed to the comfortable, yet stylish joy of the Cove from Ugg (albeit the full shaft version - in black, natch). This has necessitated myriad explanations that it is the Ugg classic that sets my teeth on edge . . . .

"Ladies who are lunch"...once again The Manolo has made me snort with glee! Fortunately I'd already finished my morning espresso when I read this.

Yes, it is somewhat surprising, but this is not the first time the Manolo has recommended the Ugg boot...

It is the Ugg Classic, and its derivatives, that Manolo does not like.

I know, Zarba! I was stunned! I felt the Earth tilt on its axis!

Something is...askew...

Now I must adjust my entire world view. This changes EVERYTHING!
