I'm 6' tall and have been married to a wonderful 5'6" tall man for 25 years! He couldn't care if I wore 9"heels. He is a very secure man to say the least. Or sons are 6'4" and 6'1", 19 and 23 respectively. Here's the thing..........I'm the one who feels, well UNFEMININE when I wear 3'' heals and stand next to my husband or other much shorter people. I've heard that from other tall women. We feel less feminine than the petite women. What's up with that, crazy huh? I need to get over my insecurity about the heels. I own gorgeous shoes, boots with heels that still look new because I never wear them. The looks and comments I get from people are often lacking in tact! Just the other day I got yet another question" did you play basketball?" ....Ah!!!!!!!!!!! So my fellows tall gals how do I reconcile this high heel issue? Honest feedback welcome. Thanks, Susan in America

I'm 6ft 2 and I love heels... when you're as tall as I am, it makes little difference to the (generally shorter) person looking up at you - 6ft2/6ft5.. no difference in their eyes but a great difference in how I look, feel and walk!

I've never really dated any men much taller than me, often they were more like 6ft or 5ft11 and the height was never really an issue.. (Altho' "Yes darling, of course we're the same height!" did make an appearance more than once!!)

I am 5'9 and hate flats. My husband is 5'11 and with heels we are about the same hight. I am ok with that, so is he. Shoe shopping is no problem. However, I cannot find long enough pants for reasonable prices. HIgh end stores sometimes carry long pants but they are over $250, even the casuals. Where do you tall ladies buy your pants??????? Would appreciate some suggestions.

I am 5'11'' and my husband is well over 6'00'', I have ever had any issues with wearing high heels, although I prefer block heels for balancing reasons. I also have a blog called www.mylovelytbigfeetblog.com. It offers daily updates on fashionable shoes in large sizes from the UK, USA and Europe. Why not visit my blog and let me know what you think?

Tall girls should definitely wear heels, the higher the better! I am 5'9" and my wife is 5'7" so when she wears 4" heels we're just eye-to-eye, but with this season's taller than ever heels she's above me - and she looks great! Of course she absolutely towers over most other women, especialy in her five and six inchers. Last Friday when we went out she was wearing some D&G wedges with a full SIX INCHES of heel and they looked great with a flared knee-length skirt. She also has some Aldo sandals with a platform of about an inch and a half, which have a full six inch stiletto heel. They are fabulous on her too!
More important to look is the proportion of the shoe in terms of visual weight. My wife has shapely legs - she's not a skinny girl - so bulky platforms show off the shape better than tiny stiletto shoes, whereas skinny girls look awful in big platforms and much better in tiny, dainty things.

I'm 6'0 and my husband is 5'6". There are issues with this, (mostly mine), but I've started to wear up to a 2" heel on occasion. Where I really notice it is when we're at a wedding or something and need to dance-everyone stares at us!
