I’m with Jen: 4 is about perfect for this, ah, effect to go well. It’s slightly excessive, does what heels are supposed to do very well indeed, and, if one is tall enough, can be done without platforms. Platforms, especially on non-boots, are pretty overtly silly, and a sign that one has forgotten what the heel was meant for in the first place.

Thanks for pointing out the important fact that the shoes aren’t the problem, the fact that she’s straying from her own personal style to be trendy or to get attention is the problem! Very important…

I have a shoe lover’s rant and I need to vent. I was out shoe shopping, and I noticed a disturbing fad in all the stores; from high end to low end, stores. There seems to be only two options in heel height this spring, either the super high stiletto or the totally flat shoe. There’s little in the middle. Even the wedge espadrille , last year they were a relief from the platform flip flops and a good option with summer dresses, it is now either seven inches high or completely flat. Whatever happened to the mid heel? -two, three inches high, nicely tapered heels, made the foot look polished and stylish, yet was comfortable enough for a day at the office or whatever? Or the kitten heel? Or the stylish work pump with detailed leather and the slightly thicker heel? Or the wedge heels, or, or, or…there are so many ways to make pretty and stylish shoes, ones that don’t cause such discomfort. Is the only choice: bunions from too high heels, or shin splints from too flat shoes? I love high heel shoes, but what’s in stores now are inhuman.

She’s actually toned up quite a bit, especially in the legs, and it’s an improvement.

But if those boots are actually seven inches high, her feet must be two feet long. I’m not ruling it out, but I’m thinking maybe it’s a PR thing, like how the designers show skirts 6″ long and ship them 24″ instead.

She looks sooooooo uncomfortable in those shoes…they are far to high.
It doesn’t look sexy at all, it simply looks like she’s wearing someone else’s clothes.

It’s a shame because this is a beautiful woman with a body that allows her to wear anything she wants.

Pitty…really.

I’ve never been a fan of Gwyneth, but she looks really good here. Yea the shoes look a bit ridiculous but they are very sexy heels. She could have achieved the same sexy look in a nice pair of black 3-4 inch black patent shoes, no?
