Wow I had completely forgotten about those Breyer horses until I read that and now I wonder if mine are still packed away at my parent's house or if some young girl got hold of them after a thorough spring cleaning episode many years ago. But what cracks me up is that others had the same response. Oh and the shoes are pretty cool - I do picture Ralph Lauren models when i see those.

I especially like the way they resemble an elaborate harness and bridle arrangement... for your FOOT. Pretty, but disturbing!

as ever, Manolo, your words ring true. I was one of those horse-obsessed teens who never had a PONY(!) of my own, but collected several boxfuls of Breyer models, which now reside in my basement. I was more of a Black Stallion reader, however - I have never heard of the Pullein-Thompson sisters, perhaps I'll investigate.

You got me thinking now about where my Breyer models might be. I certainly loved those model horses decades ago, until I got a real live horse. Oh ... and great shoes. You are right; they are a little horse-y but nice.
