Manolo says, this week the Manolo has been thinking much about the gladiator sandal trend, to the point that tomorrow his column will be dedicated to the topic. I love them! I’d wear these in an instant.

  3. Poochie Says:

They don’t do much for me but that’s one of my least favorite styles in general.

Hmm… well, I am not a fan of gladiator sandals in general, but every once in a while I see a pair like these that makes me go, “That’s not *so* bad.” Still… I don’t think I’d wear them. Partly becasue as I said before, I’m just not a fan, and partly because even if I loved looking at them, I don’t think they’d really suit me. :/

I found a cute pair of semi-gladiator wedges at JC Penny’s of all the places on sale and I love them! They don’t have the ankle strap, just 2 large leather bands crossing the feet and small leather strap connecting the 2 larger ones. Anyways, they are cute, comfy and definitely replacing the black flip flops!!

  6. Kori Ellis Says:

I change my mind regularly whether I like this trend or not. However, I do like these shoes. Not as “harsh” as some gladiator sandals.

  7. Joan H. Says:

I’m still mourning the demise of the adorable Bass gladiator sandals I had about three years ago. They didn’t have an ankle strap, just several straps going across the arch of the foot joined by the central strap, plus they had a toe loop. Most gladiator sandals are so clunky looking, and these weren’t, the straps being just broad enough to be practical. I wish they still made them.

I like these ones, but they’re too spendy for me!

  8. LeeLee Says:

Those remind me not of Stuart Weitzman, but of Daniel Green - the maker of gold elf-toe slippers and other houseshoe atrocities often worn by my grandmother.

  9. Miss Gisele B. Says:

I know-I know the gladiator sandal is UBER popular for summer 2008, but I really (REALLY) don’t think I’ll follow the trend.

I personally find them way too casual and I really don’t find them all that attractive.

That’s my two-cent worth of feedback!

    Miss Gisele B.

I love these gladiator sandals for this season. They look so great with summer dresses and shorts!! I found these great ones that Samantha Jones actually wore on the set of the Sex and the City Movie!!! They are by the designer Holly Dunlap and are called The Hollywood Gladiator–Allison Sandal..You should definitely check them out!!
