I agree that there is something inherently unattractive about this style. No matter how trendy these are, they probably will have a very short shelf life and for that reason alone I don’t think I’d buy a pair.

True enough. But it’s a blessing when you have kids of preschool age and their teachers demand(!) that you fit them with shoes that do not need lacing or buckling.

I really really really don’t like velcro on high end shoes. It just cheapens them to me. The rip of velcro is not a classy sound.

To each her own; La BellaDonna, she confess to a decades-long fondness for the gladiator sandal, regardless of its being “in” or “out” of the fashion. However, La BellaDonna will never, ever, wear the sandal that has the “thong,” which is popular with so many.

And that is why there are the many different styles available, so that each may indeed have her own!
