I have the "Happy" by Franco Sarto in navy - they're definitely my favourite shoe find this year. They're comfortable, high enough to be dressy but not so towering that I can't walk in them. I'm thinking of buying them in every colour, which is something I rarely do.

The most expensive shoes I've ever owned ($300, which isn't much compared to somedesigners, but these were 1995 dollars) are also one of the most uncomfortable pair I've ever owned. The most comfortable shoes I've ever owned while still being pretty are Enzo Angiolinos, with which I stock my closet shelves. Enzos run about $75 a pair. I am sure some expensive shoes are very comfortable, but I like having 4 pairs of pretty and comfortable shoes over one pair of pretty and uncomfortable shoes.

Still, sometimes those Pucci designs just make me giddy with longing.

Many, many times, Sr. Manolo has written, "It is always the best policy to save ones monies and buy the truly super fantastic shoes..." and I can testify the fashionable young lady will find this the best advice she has ever received. The young lady who taught me how important shoes were to her (as well as to a significant portion of the fairer sex) followed this policy and, while she wore the cheaper shoes to work and to the grocery store, when she wore her super fantastic shoes she knew she was the envy of all women who dared check out her feets.

(Plus, she said they were significantly more comfortable than the cheaper shoes.)

Thank you for your wisdom and generosity, Maestro! I do have one question. When are red shoes too much?
