I feel so honored.
I do love the golden age of movies. Nothing compares.
If you are into vintage clothes and movies may I suggest “Roberta” (1935) starring Fred Astaire, Ginger Rogers and Irene Dunne. I saw it over the weekend. Over 70 years old and that movie featured gowns and dress that would make stunning entrance on any red carpet event today. Furthermore IMHO Fred Astaire is one of the best dressed men of all time. (I put Cary Grant up there too) Granted he didn’t movie star good looks but he really had a great sense of style.
Barbara Stanwyck had amazing legs. My favorite movie of hers is “Ball of Fire” (1941) with Gary Cooper. Her character, “Sugarpuss” (love that subtle innuendo), is a cabaret singer and gangster’s moll who instructs a team of nerdy encyclopedia writers — including Cooper, who is the group’s specialist in linguistics — about contemporary slang. During most of the film she wears a spangly dress whose skirt is made up of thin horizontal strips of fabric, so that it’s cut up to THERE not just in one place, but in dozens of places — all of them good ones! Do a search for it on Google Images, and you’ll see what I mean.
