		<description>I think, if the relationship itself is old-fashioned (where the male has done the courting and paying for everything etc.) it might be acceptable... BUT I believe that the modern woman is responsible for being an equal in the relationship, including making her own decisions about her potential spouse and communicating her intentions with her family. In this case, I don&#039;t believe a male should ask permission, per se, but there&#039;s nothing wrong with discussing the situation with her family or friends to gain their opinions.</description>
