After four years in Boston I can most emphatically and readily assure you that those boots would be a horrible choice for poor Miriam. She cannot wear heels on the slippery streets and uneven sidewalks this winter, I promise. She needs something as near to flat as possible for long walks in bad, cold, wet weather--regardless of the tread on the sole. I tried many many many heeled boots so that I could look cute as I braved the streets of Boston, but I fell down...a lot. Alas, but she should settle for a wedge at best.

The name is rather unfortunate. Round heels = promiscuous or slutty.

It's not quite the same, but they do have what appears to be a shorter version of the same boot on the Timberland website:
http://www.timberland.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3249026&cp=1779792.1761172.1845665&int_prevBucket=0&showSizeSearch=true&pageBucket=0&hasPagination=false&int_nextBucket=0&pageType=family&page_bucket=0&pageNum=3&pageCount=3&pageDisplay=superfamily%2Cfilter&page=1&totalProductsCount=59&parentPage=family

(Apologies for the excessively long linkness; I'm afraid the comments don't allow html.)

Oh, Manolo. This boot disheartens me. It is beautiful, but it must be last year's boot because Zappo's only carries it in a Size 5.5, and nobody else seems to have it.

Would you care to recommend a boot that is actually currently available in more than one size?

That is not at all unattractive for a winter-weather boot! Dare I say the curved shaft gives those boots just a touch of sexiness?

Timbaland makes very good boots. They are usually lined, waterproof and have good grip. Excellent choice Manolo!

I have been coveting the North Face Abby 2 snow boot. Pretty and warm. I should have pounced when I saw the brown ones on the bay of the e for only $99. There is a pair of white ones there now, but white boots? Not so practical when their main use will be to keep my feets warm as I shovel snow out of the driveway and walk through the sludge of the grocery store parking lot. Ah, global warming.
