Thanks for the links. One of the posts–the one on Karl Lagerfield, got me writing on my blog about the subtext of his comments. It really was an ugly and thoughtless thing to say. If you want to read my commentary, it’s posted in the URL at the end–not to hijack any discussion here, though.
