Happy Birthday to the Maestro!

Manolo says, today is the special day of obligation here at the Manolo the Shoeblogger’s humble shoe blog, for today is the birthday of our patron saint, the Maestro Manolo Blahnik, who was born on this day in 1942.
Naturally, we shall celebrate this holy day with feasts in the Maestro’s honor, toasts to his continued good health, and shoes!

Truly, we are not worthy!

I’m in awe over the great work Manolo Blahnik has done over the years. He deserves a statue of gold and he is surely my true idol. As long as he produces excellent shoedesign, I will worship him! I wonder if those shoes are available in other colors…the link didn’t work. Thanks for sharing, anyway :)
I share the birthday with the Great One. I wonder if he would consider the gift of the shoe to celebrate together????
And today is another fashion God’s birthday, John Galliano, my humble tribute to him http://fashionfifthavenue.blogspot.com/2009/11/happy-birthday-john-galliano.html
Bon Anniversaire and many happy returns a el Maestro! Moi is most beholden all over the place for all the pretty shoes! What would fall be without a new collection? Spring? Rien! That’s what! All hail the Maestro!
Today is indeed a great day! The birthday of the Maestro AND the Funky Little Fashion Troll? I smell an international holiday coming on!
Am I the only one that is totally awed by the ability of the Maestro to design a fabulous, beautiful shoe that is not a 6″ heel? His best shoes are his moderate height that any woman could wear forever in comfort and high fashion. I bow to his genius.
Well said, Jennie! The Maestro’s heels are downright sane in comparison to Louboutin.
