Burberry Tonal Check Perspex Sandals…Um…Wha?
Manolo says, behold! Beautiful and unusual platform sandals from Burberry in the handsome dark nickel color, but that name? What does it mean? Tonal…Check…Perspex?
It sounds less like something you would wear on your feets and more like the DARPA super secret squirrel project.

Manolo, do these come in size 11.5 or 12?
Wow, things are bad when even Burberry can’t afford tones, checks, or clear plastic. I guess they went with their second choice on each one, but the catalog had already gone out?
If you click on the picture, the tonal check is on the footbed. I don’t know about the perspex though.
Beautiful shoes Manolo! i love the colour, whatever it is called!
“Perspex” is Brit for Plexiglas; it’s Burberry’s take on Lucite stripper heels.
The shoes are so beautiful Manolo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My favorite recent DARPA project is CT2WS, mostly because The Register called it “peril-sensitive brainhat binoculars.” I aspire to have a project that has as wonky a summary.
“Captain! The tonal check perspex is deumbrellating!”
“Dammit, Rogers, we need more power! Reroute the brundage and bring the reticulated turbine to full!”
“But Captain, that could blow the whole rail lanyard to bits!”
“Do you think I don’t know that? Do it!”
Awesome shoes but I am not a fan of the name, are they really called sandals? They look more like platforms to me.
